Senior UX Researcher - Games
We are looking for a talented and passionate Sr. User Experience (UX) Researcher to work with cross-functional teams to design and execute research, understand the motivations of our players, gather insights that inform design, and grow our ability to utilize qualitative feedback for product decisions
Example of responsibilities
- Plan and conduct user research for Embark products using a combination of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, including playtesting, usability evaluations, survey studies, and player interviews.
- Partner with studio and game leadership teams to translate research findings into actionable insights that inform market strategy, core game design, feature prioritization, and the overall product roadmap.
- Embed into game projects and work alongside Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to continuously understand the user experience and to plan impactful user studies to improve the quality of the product.
- Be an advocate for the player in product conversations by identifying root causes behind player needs and behaviors, in order to deliver relevant recommendations for improving the product.
- Collaborate with researchers, data scientists, business analysts, and other insights stakeholders to tackle cross-functional insights requests to stakeholders on all levels of the organization.
- Manage a small UX Research team, and mentor other team members (including designers and producers) on research best practices. Help to build and scale research to foster a culture of continuous customer-centric learning.
We would love if you have
- A creative and curious mind with a passion for games and games user experience.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in UX research or an equivalent role, preferably from the gaming industry, including experience integrating user research into product design.
- Demonstrated ability to lead research projects that have had a measurable impact on product strategy and design decisions.
- Analytical skills with the ability to take a variety of primary and secondary source materials such as telemetry analytics, survey results, user behavior, and best practices to craft actionable and unbiased recommendations.
- Solid comprehension of the benefits and limitations of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during the product development process.
- Knowledgeable about user research in games and user centric development for consumer applications.
- Master’s degree or higher in Cognitive Science, Statistics, Human- Psychology, Computer Science, Computer Interaction, another or related field or equivalent working experience.
This is an on-site role, and we are only considering candidates already residing in Sweden.
